Confucianism is a very broad yet experienced religion even though it is not an organized religion. Its beliefs for life on Earth include such subjects as human nature, marriage, education, government, etc. Confucianism has a much different approach towards the afterlife than most religions however. Being that the religion has no record of ever believing a god of any sort, many believe that it is not a religion for that very fact. Its creator K'ung Fu- tzu (Confucius) believed in a religion in which you maintain a peaceful atmosphere while on Earth and die peacefully. Confucianism is based on a previous dynasty known as the Zhou. Founded in China in between 6th-5th B.C.E. Confucianism has 6.4 million followers to this date making it the …show more content…
Shu Ching, Shih Ching, I Ching, Ch'un Ching, Li Ching are the Five Classics. Shu Ching which translates to Book of Documents is a collection of documents and speeches from the later Han Dynasty. Shih Ching translates to Classic of Poetry. This Classic has 300 poems and songs from the Chou Dynasty. I Ching or Book of Changes is a book that consists of a set of 64 hexagrams that reflect the relationship between Yin and Yang in society and nature. Ch’un Ching translates to english as Spring and Autumn Annals.This Classic is said to be compiled by Confucius and are extracts from the history of the state of Lu. The last Classic, Li Ching translate to Book of Rites and consists of three books on the Li.
There are Four Books in the Confucianism religion. Lun Yu of Confucius is one of the Four Books that is a compilation of speeches by Confucius and his disciples. Chung Yung is another book that is a small, 33 chapter book on how to demonstrate the usefulness of a golden way to gain perfect virtue. Ta Hsueh expresses many themes of Chinese philosophy and political thinking. Meng Tzu is a collection of conversations of the scholar Mencius with kings of his time. These are the Four Books of
