We recently moved out from the city of Detroit, and now reside in the suburbs of Sterling Heights. Ever since my parents regain their ascribed social status, they have slowly started to gain the oppurintuties of doing extra- curricular activities like they did before they were laid off. Although I am happy that parents regain their social status, it changed my view of how working/middle class citizens go through on a daily basis. As a middle class citizen, I always thought that my family would always be financial stable and never thought my family would become working- class citizens. I also believed that working class citizens were considered lazy and unsuccessful. Until, I was in the position of the daily struggles of being a working- class
