Rhetorician writers must be able to use different strategies and techniques to persuade their intended audiences. These writers need to be able to use skills such as ethos, pathos, and logos. Also supporting evidence and keeping readers engaged are very important too. If a writer is able to do some or all of these skills well, they can be able to persuade their intended audience. Paul Krugman, a The New York Times writer and a 2008 Nobel Prize winner in Economics writes an article titled “Confronting Inequality.” He writes about the inequality in income and the problems within social classes, mainly in the middle class. Krugman tries to persuade and inform his intended audience about these injustices. Krugman has many different techniques to …show more content…
It is much more persuasive to most viewers, especially younger viewers. Younger audience is attracted to these techniques, because it stimulates the brain and eyes of these younger viewers who are attracted to the simulants of their cell phones and new technologies. The documentary attracts an audience of younger age people and people not traversed in the subject. The fact that it is visual and auditorial also makes it easier for the audience to understand. Rather than just reading a bunch of numbers in an essay and trying to understand what it means; viewers are told what the numbers mean and are show diagrams to make the information seem more relevant. This causes younger and uninformed audiences to find more comfort in learning about the topic. In addition the fact that it's a movie makes it easier for someone to keep their attention, because it's simpler than reading. There is hardly an effort needed and it feels a lot less like traditional learning techniques. In turn, this attracts the younger audience better. The documentary uses many visual aids to get the attention of the viewers. Graphs, diagrams, charts are used consistently throughout the movie and they are a large reason it keeps viewers interested in the
