Conformity Vs Rebellion

From the actions and behaviors of these characters, the reader can tell that rebellion and conformity are major parts of this text. As evidenced by the story, it's a major theme of the making of this text.

In the text, "A+P," a very important theme of the text is conformity vs. rebellion. In this text, it's obvious that Sammy is being rebellious. By Sammy saying "I quit," it proves that he is rebelling against the rules. Because rather than staying quiet and doing what his boss says, Sammy quits because he doesn't agree with the rules. Contrarily, Lengel, Sammy's boss, is a part of conformity, because he follows the rules, as well as enforcing them.
