Methodology that I would use to investigate gender differences focusing on conformity in children would be an experimental approach. Focusing on how children associate themselves and their identity by recording the descriptions children give of toys they like. In Blakemore & Centers (2005) they focused on how adults associate certain toys as being appropriate for girls or boys based on typical gender stereotyping. Boy toys were usually seen as violent; as for girls’ toys were associated with nurturing (Blakemore & Centers, 2005).
