The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton, in this book there are problems started by a group of teenager who like to get drunk and destroy the town. The Outsiders is about two Rival gangs who are at war with each other because they are in different classes, ones high classes and the other low class. The story takes place when a Greasers kill a Social (Socs) in the act of protecting his friend. Johnny the character that is protecting his friend is badly burned in a fire and rescue and later dies. In the novel, The Outsiders, much of the turmoil and conflict in the community is caused by the Socials. Socs are bad because they are the town hero one day then next they are causing trouble. Johnny was justified in killing Bob. “Johnny told me what had happened: "They ran when I stabbed him. They all ran..." A panic was rising in me as I listened to Johnny's quiet voice go on and on. "Johnny!" I nearly screamed.” (Pg.50) If the Socs had never attacked Johnny in the first place he would not have carried the knife with him. )Johnny and Ponyboy should not have stayed and taken the consequences of Bob’s death. “Cherry Valance, and she said Bob had been drunk and that the boys had been looking for a fight when they took her home. However, the Socs were the ones to blame because of always cause madness. In addition, the Greasers are not at fault because they were the victims of all of the problem in the story.
