Conflict theory is a way to examine a conflict. To create my own theory, I wanted something that represented my morals, values, and ideals. In a perfect world, this would be the way everyone would use my conflict theory. The picture I have chosen is a picture of two hands being joined together to show solidarity and unity. With the quote overtop “come together in peace”. Through my picture I will analyze unity and togetherness, and peace and non-violence.

To me this means two people coming together to make a unit. To solve a conflict, we need to come together. By coming together, we are able to understand how the other party feels and what is wrong. Without coming together one party will lose, which is an undesirable situation. By coming together, we can use methods such as negotiation and mediation. Even as a child we are taught to negotiate. In nursery school, I was taught to try and work it out amongst ourselves before asking a teacher for help. For example, when fighting over a toy sharing is a common negotiation strategy. I can use the toy first and you can use it after. Mediation is also an important process to use when there is complex emotions and situations. By using a mediator, we are able to solve the problem and begin to work together again. (EXAMPLE)???? This past year, many other people joined in by linking arms as a sign of solidarity just like the two hands clasped together. Personally, I find this so amazing because people from all different backgrounds are joining in to raise awareness. If you are watching the game, it is something you cannot ignore. People from other sports teams are also coming together peacefully to support Collin Kappenick by taking a knee as
