Conflict perspective has an entirely different focus. Conflicts theorists are highly critical of religion. For example Karl Marx, who is an atheist, who believed that the existence of God is impossible. “Religion is the sigh of the oppressedcreature, the sentiment of a heartless world. . . . It is the opium of the people” (Marx1844/1964). This was believe to be his most famous statement. Using this statement Marx was trying to oppressed workers and find escape in religion. For some religion help them with everyday life and make them also feel better. Some theorists say that religion legitimates the social inequalities of the larger society. By this i mean that religion teaches the different arrangement of the society represent what God desire.
