Introduction
After completing this chart, I realized that I find conflict an opportunity to be right. I tend to view conflict as a challenge and find it exhilarating. It’s a battle between two or more people, and tests people to their limits. By completing this chart I have also realized that when possible, I will collaborate with the other person(s). I care about the outcome of the conflict, and prefer it to be beneficial for myself, but at the same time, beneficial for the other person as well.

Also because the outcomes that always occur benefit both parties, no one gets hurt as an outcome; ergo, the bonds become stronger between my friends and family during conflict. Usually every conflict is competitive but they are times where I will give in, especially if it is between my family and I. Usually just with my family will I avoid conflict, unless it is with my brother. Other than my family, every conflict I come across I am most likely to challenge it. During the conflict and decision making stage, I usually get my point across first because I am competitive, but I always listen to the other persons side as well, because competitions are challenging, and I view conflict as a challenge that I want to overcome. After we all get our points across, we come to a conclusion that ends in a positive way, and beneficial for

The five conflict styles consist of competing, avoiding, accommodating, compromising and collaborating (Griffith & Dunham, 2015). The competing method can help to bring more turmoil into the group while working toward a resolution. If a member feels threatened that others will be perceived in a better light, then their competitiveness may arise and could override the want to work within a group setting. Although, the avoiding conflict style is where most individuals are trying to avoid the conflicts that may arise. However, altogether avoiding the situation will not make it go away and the conflict never gets resolution.…
