Conflict in the Workplace Conflict is a complex behavior which occurs within a person or between persons, or within a group or between groups. It occurs when one party feels that its interests are negatively affected or being oppressed by the other party. Health care providers like the nurses, technologists, and physicians among other are often prone to conflicts due to the complex and stressful environment in which they work. Some of the conflicts lead to positive results but most result in the negative outcomes including impact on the employee wellbeing, job satisfaction as well as patient care quality (Demsky, Ellis, & Fritz, 2014). Considering an example of a conflict I saw in the health facility between the nurse, the patient, the physician and the patient’s family due to the value differences in the inpatient unit; the physician prescribed a 47-year patient a potent sedative since the physician had earlier agreed with the patient and the patient’s …show more content…
Factors Affecting High-quality Care As a manager, factors to control for my staff to provide quality care include patient and staff socio-demographic variables, and the patient cooperation which are external and the internal factors including the staff competence, motivation and satisfaction; facilities and resources available, the health system, facility leadership and management as well as partnership and collaboration management (Chaudoir, Dugan, & Barr, 2013).
Quality Management Programs I will recommend an automated quality management program because it enables connection of all departments in the health facility throughout all cycles of health care delivery therefore giving all departments in the facility an opportunity to give feedback (Carayon, et al.,
