Question #1 I am choosing to be confirmed, because I want to belong to a community of Christians who believe in the workings of Jesus Christ. Through my baptism I have been promised God’s protection, and unconditional love. During my Christian education I have learned how Jesus Christ has freed me from sin, provided me with food and clothing, and made sacrifices to take care of all his people. Confirmation will continue to allow me to show my faith, continue to grow and learn, and most importantly allow me to serve God’s will as I grow into adulthood. I will show my faith in Jesus by giving thanks and praise and living my life according to his teachings.…

“And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, receive the Holy Spirit” (John 20:22). As my Confirmation date comes closer, I am not only preparing myself to take in the Holy Spirit, but I am also getting ready to take on the responsibilities of being a full grown Catholic. Although I am nervous, I am excited to find out what God’s plan is for me in the future. My sponsor Catie Hartley has helped me strengthen my bonds with God and the Church throughout the past years. She has set positive examples in her life and our relationship continues to grow every…

As an ignorant young adult, I wasn’t very outgoing; I was always the shy student, the one who always got bullied and I wouldn’t really talk to anyone. When I turned fourteen, my parents informed me I was to attend confirmation classes. I wasn’t exactly enthused at the new that I would attend it for two years. To add to these, wonderful news; my older brother was going with me too. Goody.…

When I was little I remember going to Catholic Church and not liking it. I felt like I never understood what the message was. When I went to the Catholic Church again I still didn’t understand what the message was. It seemed like I was lost from the moment I walked in. I couldn’t pay attention to the mass because there was so much around me like the statues, pictures and the smell was different.…
Some strategies that could be utilized to anticipate or prevent these type issues from occurring are first conducting exit interviews. Ms. Nance indicated that she accepts employees resignations in an informal manner, which prevents her from collecting data as to why employees are leaving. The exit interview should be given to the employee upon receipt of their notice of resignation, in an effort to review the results and perhaps convince the employee to stay. Also, analyzing the data and determining a plan of action is key. Not only should she collect the data but determine how to correct the concern is based on the interview results.…
Leadership Interview I recently had the opportunity of interviewing Mr. Maity who has more than ten years of experience in leadership positions within his organization. He started his career after grad school with a small non-profit research organization. His leadership abilities were quickly realized and he became a part of a large company as a Project Manager. He recalls that in his first job, the small size of the company and the nature of operations meant that soon after joining the firm, he started taking up multiple responsibilities with many being outside of his core functional role. This valuable learning experience has allowed him to excel in his current leadership position.…
After a while I had an experience I can only describe as God talking to me, telling me to live. I started to go to Mass more and try to be the best Catholic I can be to thank him. I deeply love the faith and all of the history behind it. I carry a rosary with me at all times and also pray on it. I am not embarrassed by being a Catholic and support the church entirely.…
Before I stepped into St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, I thought that attending Catholic Mass would not be all that different from the Protestant services I grew up attending. However, I felt out of place as soon as I walked through the front doors. Everything felt foreign to me; from the way the building was set up, to the way people behaved during the service, to the way everyone exited the church. As an outsider, I felt lost and almost lonely as the masses around me moved in unison and I was left trying to follow along as best I could. I did not feel that Mass was welcome and open as the services of the Protestant churches that I am familiar with.…
