We thought his eyes were going to pop out of his head(hyperbole). We all let out a breathy laugh because he looked as nervous as a cat in a room full of dogs(simile). I would’ve been too if I’d had to start. As our pastor was reading the questions, we all quietly listened. Jared got the first one right, ding! ‘We’re off to a good start at least,’ I thought to myself. All of the guys went first, and when it got to Chase, I knew he was going to get it wrong. He’d said he didn’t study for it. Pastor read the question, and it felt like he took a hundred years(hyperbole) to answer it. He was most likely contemplating his decision. He was the first one to get his answer wrong. His face was a red balloon (metaphor). It went like that each time we answered. Question after question. Answer after answer. I was as tired as an insomniac (simile) and I just wanted to be done with the questioning.
After about and forty-five minutes, we had one question left. I felt tingly (sensory) inside knowing that there was one question left. It was Cody’s turn for the last question, and thankfully, got it right. I could almost see the nervousness leave (sensory) everybody. We were done with questioning. Now onto the church
