Confidentiality Regulations For School Counselors

Decent Essays
The reason why is because we treat and handle the students as if there our on children and never think about the privacy act and the rights of the students which they have unknowingly. Understanding the purpose of confidentiality regulations, my retrospective is that "school personnel and some school counselors will be unaware of the regulations and code of ethics, and may unintentionally break the law and be subject to litigation"(Stevens & Smith, 2013). The work which school personnel perform is done with heart-felt compassion for the youth of today and " the duty to protect" as to the job we all love to do. When I return to school I will be conversing with my principal and social worker, for more clarity.
