This leaflet has been design for Mr Tony, a 57 years old man, diagnosed with on-set of Alzheimer a year ago. On this admission he was presenting with low mood and severe anxiety. The name of the service user and wife has been changed in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of conduct (2015) guideline regarding patient confidentiality.
Mr Tony had been a moderate smoker for more than 30 years, smoking 5 to 7 sticks a day to 10-15 sticks within the last 6 months and staff suggested that this behaviour is further encourage by Mrs Tony, who brings packets of cigarette on every visit.
