Confidentially and Exceptions All participant information will be confidential. “Exceptions to confidentiality include abuse/neglect of a child/elderly person/disabled adult, danger to self or others, legal responsibilities, financial information to enable third party payments, legal/board charges against the counselor and medical emergencies” (Brennan, 2016). Due to the group setting confidentiality cannot be guaranteed on behalf of other participants, however, it will be an expectation that all participants agree to.
