Every school in the UK will have its own confidentiality and information sharing policy and as a teaching assistant we need to be aware of the same as we will have access to various information about the school as well pupil. We are not allowed to share information and the information can be shared to the relevant person on a neeed to know basis. An example for this is where a parent will receive a form to be signed off for taking a photograph of the children during activies.

It is very important to make sure that parents are reassured about the information that they share about their child will be confidential.School is collecting as much as information about the children so that it can better support them in their learning and well being

In 1976, the California Supreme Court ruled in the case of Tarasoff v. Regents of the University of California that a patient’s right to confidentiality “ends where the public peril begins.” It was decided that doctor-patient confidentiality could—and should—be broken if the doctor believes a patient will cause serious harm to another person. In his article entitled “A Defense of Unqualified Medical Confidentiality,” Kenneth Kipnis argues that doctor-patient confidentiality should always be kept, contrary to the findings of the Tarasoff case. He presents the fictionalized case of the infected spouse to clarify his argument. In this case, a husband learns from his doctor that he is HIV positive.…

Although the school and its staff is bound by law to handle information about children in a confidential way and share it only with relevant and responsible people. It is important to reassure children, young people and adults that any information about them is kept confidential and only used where and when necessary and only for the required duration in order to maintain their trust and security. It is their right to privacy to have this information kept confidential and not passed on for others to talk about or gossip. Parents should also be reassured that the school is providing correct care and support for them and their children. When parent consent is taken in advance, they are less likely to feel that their confidentiality is being breached.…

Question: Question 1e Answer: Under the Data Protection Act 1998, information which is gathered by the school in the context of safeguarding and child protection must be used only for that purpose and this is a policy in which schools handle information. There are only a few main exceptions to this, that is: Information which may cause serious harm or risk of abuse to the health of the pupil or another individual Information given to a court, adoption or parental order records Copies of examination scripts or marks prior to their…

In public schools today it is extremely important to understand the diverse culture and the needs of the families and the community one is serving. It is equally as important to include the families and the community in the decision making of the schools needs and activities (CPSEL 4.1). As indicated in From Fundraising to Hell Raising: New Roles for Parents, by Arnold F. Fege, parents no longer see the schools as the authority figure making all the decisions, they see public education as a commodity that they are purchasing and have a right to participate in. Administrators need to view the parents as important partners in school decision making and embarrass their ideas and their culture.…

Thank you for your well thought-out paper. I understand that you did not want to lie to the father regarding diagnosis of his daughter; but, by law you are bound by confidentiality. In addition to confidentiality, you are bound to do no harm to your patient, and you did not know how the father may have responded to the diagnosis (Burkhardt & Nathaniel, 2014). I applaud you that you were honest to let the doctor know how you felt about lying about the diagnosis. In addition, I also applaud the doctor took over the process of given the diagnosis and discharging…

Ideally there would be a plan and steps that would be followed that addressed the issue of confidentiality yet that is not always the case. If the team wanted investigation confidentiality, a third-party person or group would assist in the incident response. That way they would have no reason to hide anything as they would be neutral and hopefully trained correctly (you never know). If a third party was not financially feasible, a designated group should be used that follow proper protocol as spelled out in NIST guidelines that were suggested for this assignment. For example, there should be no discussion of findings as the investigation is underway as well as any documents should be discretely covered as notes are being documented.…

The Security and Confidentiality policy is an important policy not just for the business but for students too as anything that disobeys orders can risk the safety of student accounts that actually hold personal information and student resources such as the shared area, if this gets corrupted then the college will face losing valuable lesson plans that have taken a long while to plan. As a college is a busy place, there is an increase chance of an intruder coming in and hacking systems to expose private information (college network) that are held on the server systems or another way by using a student’s account to plant malware, viruses or other threats through open workstations. The Data Protection Act says that no data should be leaked to…
