In Confetti Girl and Tortilla Sun, both the children and parents are faced with a situation causing tension due to different points of view because both girls want something that is contrary to their parents plans or ideas. In Confetti Girl, the girl sees her dad as caring more for his books and vocabulary than her. However, the father believes that he is helping her with her school work as well as flooding his interests into her.
