I learned a lot of things while doing the Creating a Nation project. I learned about the checks and balances between the branches and how no one branch was more powerful than another. In my opinion this was very ingenious. No branch could have more power than another branch. During this unit I learned a lot about the Articles of Confederation. The Articles of Confederation allotted a lot of power to the states and less power to the central government. The central government had to ask the states to do things. The central government could only make treaties and such. The Articles of Confederation didn't have a president. I understood why the young nation didn't want a president. The United had just gone through a war with King George. They
