I was terrified. We were on top of Little Round Top, and the Confederates were shooting at us from all around. We only had the woods at the back of us if we needed to escape. From there it was just open plains, we were under panic a bit but remained calm. The Confederates were crossing the mile wide gap from their area to ours. We could have open fire of huge cannons. Once the Confederates were close enough, they started shooting. There was a lot of shots fired too. A At the beginning I was worried about Lee out thinking us, but our general out thought him this time. This was the first time in the war that a Union general out thought the “great” Robert E. Lee.
