The Confederate Flag represents racism because the flag was for the people of the south who believed slavery was not wrong. So by having the flag raised in some states could have people hurting from what the flag represented from the past. The Democrats views on the Confederate Flag have changed throughout the years, but are now increasingly negative towards it. " Democrats' views have shifted from a solid 61% majority viewing the flag as a symbol of Southern pride in 1992 to just 32% holding that view today( Jones, Gallup News). This shows how they are shifted from not thinking the flag was racist too now thinking it is and is not supporting it.
