Conducting Coaching Sessions: The GROW Model Final Session
Introduction
Over the last few weeks is has been a privilege to be part of this journey and observe the incredible growth of this coaching experience. Through hard work, and determination, I have drawn upon research to help develop my personal experience as a coach. This experience has allowed me build and sustain a positive rapport with the coachee, thus guiding and facilitating him towards personal development. Each session builds upon the previous, and as we move towards the final component of the GROW model, the coachee and I will look for ways to move forward (MindTools, 2014). Despite various challenges, I have been able to successfully demonstrate empathy and understanding with the coachee, therefore brining a trustworthy and sincere experience the coaching relationship.
Whether internal or external, no coaching relationship is without challenges. The lack of initial focus appeared to be a challenge, however, once focus was re-established the remainder of the session progressed as planed. In my assessment of the coachee, I believe that the lack of focus along with poor communication skills, are all challenges that the coachee may face going forward. Although the coachee has made significant progress towards his goal, the fact that this coachee still harbors some pessimistic tendencies, can be his downfall, therefore, more growth and development is needed.

Throughout this coaching relationship, I stressed the importance of patience. The coachee must realize that this transformation is a slow and methodical process and he must remain dedicated and positive regardless of the obstacles. The coachee has requested my assistance in helping him to become a better communicator; therefore this coaching relationship has been extended for a few more weeks.
