First, former hockey player sued the NHL (National Hockey League) because of concussions they say happened during their games. They are also asking for money from the NHL. All it took is one blow to the head for students to dramatically struggle in school. The article, “Students who suffer concussions also suffer in the classroom, study says”, says, “New research published by a medical journal called Pediatrics shows that nearly 9 in 10 teens who experience concussions have academic issues afterward. Symptoms like headaches and fatigue make school especially difficult for them.” Like the article said, 9 out 10 teens had academic issues afterward. This percentage is huge. So, what can we do? The same article says, “Their homework might be reduced and they might need to take frequent breaks or reschedule tests. Teachers might need to let a concussed student leave class a few minutes early so they don't get caught in all of the noise and confusion of passing periods.” These are just some good ideas. In conclusion, students who suffer from concussions should tell their teacher so they can work out solutions to help
