Concussion Protocol The NFL has been talking about their protocols on players when they get concussions. The topic is discussed very much and should be taken very seriously not only to professional players, but to players all around the world. Many athletes don’t take this injury very seriously. They just think they’ll get over the injury in a couple days and continue to play. Players need to take concussions into serious consideration when they get one. From personal experience, concussions are nothing to mess with and athletes should take this injury very seriously instead of brushing it off and not worrying about it. I believe that the concussion protocol in high school football should be stricter because of what they can do to you, how they affect your daily life, and the long term symptoms they give to you.
Concussions happen when your head receives a hard impact and causes your brain to be injured. Like a muscle, your brain can also be injured. Unlike bruises, breaks, or sprains, you cannot simply apply a cast, brace, or bandage to help heal them. The brain has a very different way of healing itself. Brains injuries are nothing to mess around with. They can completely change an entire person. They can change the way a person lives and acts. Many athletes don’t know that concussions can kill you if you receive many of them or a very severe one. They need to know telling someone they are hurt doesn’t mean they’re a baby. You are really benefitting yourself and don’t have to worry about a small injury turn into a life changing
