Concordia University is a private, non-profit liberal arts university that caters to Christian students, but welcomes students of any faith. Concordia University is nestled in the beautiful city of Portland, Oregon. Portland is considered to be one of the greenest, versatile and most eclectic cities in the country. Concordia University is located in northwestern Portland, which features unique restaurants, art galleries, eccentric shops and seasonal events. Portland is affectionately mocked in the popular Saturday Night Live television show ‘Portlandia’ with Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein. Portland is considered to be one of the best cities for bike, beer and book lovers.

For instance, the Early Childhood Education degree is designed for teachers with associate degrees who want to make positive impacts in the lives of children. The bachelor's degree in early childhood education focuses on students from the preschool years to the elementary school years. This degree focuses on helping children acquire the basic competencies needed to succeed at home and school. This is a non-licensure degree program consists of various courses that conclude with an internship that serves as the final semester. The internship uses a cohort-based system that comes with networking support. This degree program is designed for students who already have a job and family. The degree builds on previous concepts and knowledge covered in an associate's degree in early childhood or child development.
