1 INTRODUCTION Virtual Reality is a way for humans to visualise, manipulate and interact with computers and highly complicated data (Kushner 2016). In addition, this visualisation refers to the computer developing visual, auditory and other sensual outputs to the user of a world within the computer (Kushner 2016). Also, this world may be scientific simulation, or a look into a database, the user is able to collaborate with the world and directly manipulate objects within the world, where some worlds will be animated by processes, either by physical simulations or simple animation scripts (Stevens 1995). Therefore, interaction within the virtual world is a demanding test for a virtual reality, in this essay, a brief history of virtual …show more content…

Therefore, it provides massive benefits in education and helps to improve student engagement (Kushner 2016). In addition, it’s one of the best ways to engage and help students understand the particular subject through a virtual reality system (Kushner 2016). Furthermore, healthcare is adopting virtual reality by developing surgery simulation, phobia treatment, robotic surgery and skills training allowing healthcare professionals to learn new skills as well as refreshing existing ones in a safe environment without causing any danger to the patients (MedGadgets 2015). In saying that, augmented reality is one of the approaches in the medical field, mainly for surgery and medicine. Also, In a study, the HMD is a computer generated device which displays graphics over a real-world scene (Jeremy, Bailenson 2008). According to Kushner (2016), Medical Realities is a company using this form of virtual reality, therefore, augmented reality and games are being used to train medical students, with its Virtual Surgeon programme enabling the students to experience operations from the surgeon’s perspective. Moreover, this type of virtual reality could help the

In the short term, conception and recollection of theoretical information on pathology become easier for the student. Indeed, ultrasound imaging confers a very practical understanding of both form and function. Notably, this is presented in a multidimensional and real time manner that is unachievable in a dissecting room or lecture hall (Dolgor, Peinado, Sarmiento & Hoi, 2014). For example, it is possible to observe the function of the heart structures from different angles and in different situations. Similarly, ultrasound images allow the student to conceptualize different tissue densities in various disease processes.…

Augmentation can take place with different procedures, the main objective is to establish a system whereby a user cannot possibly differentiate between the real world and the virtual representation of the augmentation. In manufacturing, there is an approach called the Computer-integrated Manufacturing process which involves the use of computers to control the production process. This process involves examining and identifying problems in the components of equipment, managing equipment performance and schedule, equipment tools and devices as well as measurement. To achieve augmented reality aided manufacturing and also ensure effectiveness and productivity, some key processes will have to be followed through, and they include: the augmented reality aided robot control which makes good use of hardware and software tools to produce an amalgamation of a physical event and an augmented event comprising of a 3D virtual representation of a thing or situation. A digitalization device called Kinect in accordance with a software called skanect will be used to perform real-time job specifications.…
