Childhood Obesity, no matter where you go, it’s there, and it’s becoming too big of an epidemic. Too many people in the world are plagued with the problem. By the end of this presentation, you should have a better understanding of what obesity is, the cause of obesity and why it’s a problem, the solution for obesity, the groups who are fighting the issue, and the end goal that should be reached. Obesity is excessive amount of body fat due to having a genetic and environment factors that are difficult to control when dieting. Nutrition is possibly the most important way to decrease the chances of obesity. Parents and guardians need to watch what they are feeding their children. If the child eats a giant salad full of cereal with Oreos as a side for every meal, expect the child to be obese in no time. To deter people from buying high in sugar products is by increasing the taxes on these items. Even though people will not agree with that thought, high in sugar products are not a “need” thing. WIC and food stamp users takes advantage of the government money and buy whatever they want. If they receive money from the government, it should mainly go to healthy food. But, it does not hurt to have a snack, so a small amount of money should be set strictly for high sugar food. Technology is one of the cause for obesity, but like what most people say, “it’s like fighting fire with fire”. With how big the internet is, there are so many websites that provides information on keeping a healthy lifestyle. But some people do not have that luxury, and for them the schools should have counselors with pamphlets so the parents or guardians can have someone to go to if any questions come to mind. But with the counselors, anyone will be able to utilize
