When we walked in, the musicians were seated at the front of the restaurant near the door. They started out with a short song, and took a small pause. They then played another song and paused again. It was interesting because it seemed like they were taking more breaks than playing. I wish I was able to hear longer songs to get more of an idea of the music that they were playing. From the songs that I heard, I gathered that the music was a type of Irish music. The instruments used were a violin and a flute. There were about three other instruments, but I was unsure of the names. It sounded like there were bagpipes being played, but I think it was the combination of the instruments being played together. I noticed that the tempo seemed to get faster as the pitch got higher. The pitch started out somewhat low, and then started to get faster. When the music ended, it seemed to not really have an ending, but just stopped abruptly. I noticed that not all of the instruments played at the same time. When I stood in front of the musicians to watch, I noticed that some of them were taking breaks while others played. I found this interesting because when I was listening to the music without watching, I would not have even noticed this. I think that it helped out a lot being able to actually see the musicians and the instruments, rather than just listening to the sounds. Many of the songs that were played also sounded quite similar. I noticed that the first two songs sounded almost the same because they both were in an upbeat tempo, had a higher pitch, and sounded like bagpipes were being played. This was probably the most striking thing that I saw here. I thought that it was very interesting that there could be a variety of instruments played together that could make it sound like there were bagpipes being played. This is what helped me to determine that it sounded like Irish
