We all engage in leisure activities whether through intrinsic or extrinsic motivation we partake in the activity with some goal or end behind it all. Our perceived notions of something being a freedom of choice or not influences how we view an activity or leisure time. According to Russell (2017) Neulinger’s Paradigm consist of one’s state of mind which can be split up into two category; perceived freedom and perceived constraint. Under perceived freedom are the intrinsic and extrinsic matters such as pure leisure, leisure work and leisure job; as for perceived constraint listed under that category contains both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation such as pure work, work-job, and pure job. Through our own perceived notions of leisure we partake in activities caused by intrinsic and extrinsic motivations. What one individual sees as leisure could be to another individual as work. Some things are accomplished or participated in because of external rewards such as receiving money or fame and recognition. To some that may seem shallow but to the individual it is a means to an end in which they benefit from partaking in the activity. That is to say that our leisure is affected by our state of mind which already has its own preconceived notions of what leisure is depending on the intrinsic and extrinsic motivations. Additionally it is work mentioning that intrinsic and extrinsic motivations could be working together in influences both leisure and work. My pure leisure of reading books, manga, and watching animation is the perfect example of what pure leisure means; finding enjoyment from the stories and shows during my free time out of school and work. Chapter two discusses the importance of leisure and why everyone should partake in leisure activities. The point to this is that as mentioned before when any individual partakes in activities which their state of mind has not been influence by factors which enables stress or pressure their brain release positive chemicals which lift the mood. All of this in turn is healthy for the mind and body. As for my activity even though it cannot be definitely shown that positive chemicals are being released by the command of my brain feelings of happiness and being relaxed is a good indication that there is no stress or influences from others factors involved in which may put me in such a state of euphoria while reading or watching my animation. As we look towards chapter seven we see that as we advance in technology it has become a part of leisure that our society has included. Whether it is reading or watching it all happens on my tablet which is a part of technology. I use my tablet to gain access to reading my stories and watching my animation. For my leisure I
