Concept:
History threat is one of the major threats to internal validity that researchers should address. The results researchers found could be due to possible outside factors that happened to the participants during that time. As a result, history threat might affect the internal validity of this study.

The concept of assessment of learning is not mentioned in this article; however, it is indicated that some of the primary reasons for these standardized tests are teacher evaluation, providing reports for the public, and gaining some grants. In addition, the author demonstrates that some students have to retake the tests several times; subsequently, the time for instruction in classrooms may be decreased. Teachers should balance the use of assessment of learning and assessment for learning because assessment for learning is crucial for students; they have opportunities to receive formative feedback and monitor their progress to help them be successful.
