The majority of the population want to have a way to feel safe, whether it be accomplished by staying in a group or carrying a concealed pistol. Having the reassurance of carrying a concealed pistol gives many people peace of mind. For instance, a young female college student walking across the dimly lit college parking lot will feel safer knowing that she has a way to properly defend herself if an attacker confronts her. The safer a person feels the more confidence they will have along with the ability to stay calm in a heated situation. An unarmed person may feel as they do not have the power it takes to fend off an attacker, but if such a person was armed they would feel they have something to keep them safe.
