Concealed Handguns
Did you know that every year guns are used almost 2.5 million times to protect someone, about 6,850 times a day? That means that guns are used almost 80 times more often to protect the lives of innocents, than to take them. So obviously, adults should be able to carry concealed handguns. Responsible citizens need to arm themselves against criminals with guns, most adults who carry concealed handguns are law-abiding, and having a concealed handgun can protect people who cannot always rely on police forces to protect them. Many people in today’s world carry concealed handguns. Some do it legally, and go out of their way to meet the legal requirements for permission to exercise the right to self-defense. Others do it illegally, and are the main reason why some people choose to arm themselves when they venture away from their homes. A concealed handguns purpose isn’t to end lives, it is simply to ensure your own safety. “I don’t ever want to pull a trigger in anger, but if it comes down to a choice between me and a bad guy, I’ll do everything I can to ensure that the bad guy loses.” (Russ Chastain) Still, there are people who think that adults should not be able to carry concealed handguns. And although the second amendment in the constitution allows us to own guns, some people think that it does not include concealed handguns. For example- “No, adults should not be able to carry a concealed handgun. The constitution says that people have the right to bear arms. This means you can have a rifle for hunting if you need it. A handgun is only used to kill other people.”
