I have always liked computers since I got my first one. I am even using a computer to write this paper. There have recently been many advancements in computers in recent years. There have been some very important people and new applications made possible by these people. Computers have been made smaller, faster, lighter, and stronger and have made things in the medical field, military field, and for normal use possible that were not possible a few years ago. We have made more advances in technology in the last 10 years than the whole time we’ve been a species. An example of this is the computers that launched the first rocket to the moon, now an ipod has more power than that and the NASA computers were as big as a classroom. They have …show more content…
One of the new uses in the military are drones. Drones are a very big and important advancement because it keeps a person from having to do it in person. Drones have been used in the fight against terror a lot recently. One benefit of drones is you can tell a computer to do something and it will do it perfectly and is not subject to human error. Another benefit of drones versus a person is if there is enemy fire they can still try to accomplish the mission and not worry about a person getting hurt. A computer also can think of different ways for the drones to try to come at the target to get the mission accomplished quicker or with more damage. One of the more recent advancements in computers is they can now control robots that can now help out in simple surgeries. A second use for computers in the medical field is to gather information. Machines like MRIs can gather information about a body part to help it get fixed or to keep it from getting hurt or broken. A third use for computers in the medical field is monitoring a patient. They can put a heart rate monitor on a patient and keep an eye on them to make sure they have no problems. They can also monitor how much of a certain medicine they are getting. A fourth and final use for computers in the medical field are communicating between doctors and nurses and transferring information. Transferring information well is very important because it helps doctors with patients. Those are some uses for computers in the medical field. Computers could affect anyone. Anyone who gets in one of these fields could use a computer at any time. Computers are now an important part of our society. They are important because they can get things done quickly. They can also get things done efficiently. The people who get these jobs will be at the forefront of the 21st century. We should all consider a job in these fields because they will have job security and they help
