The ongoing controversy that erupted in the past decade brought people’s attention back to the debates between the intelligence of the computer versus the human brain. The distinction between a human and a computer is similar yet implausible. To begin one must identify the denotation of ‘intelligence’. Intelligence is a notion that has the capability to obtain and apply knowledge/ skills, to improve human life as a whole. Intelligence has a wide range which can vary from specific to general. This list must first distinguish which types of multiple intelligences does a human have that a computer does not possess. Such as being visual-spatial smart, bodily-kinesthetic smart, interpersonal, …show more content…
Similar to a brain, the Computer Processing Unit (CPU) controls and operates numerous functions at once. To see whether a man made intelligence machine can compete against the human brain, one must be able to observe whether or not a human is capable of withholding emotions. A human and a computer both receive and input information, the human’s receiver inputs are processed through the five senses such as sight, hearing, feeling, smelling, and taste. A computer on the other hand inputs via sensors, keyboards, and scanners. Although computers can operate input similarly like humans, they can not compete the same on mental and physical levels. To be able to have emotions one must be able to break downs into smaller components in conscious minds. Computers and machines to be exact run on logic, and emotion is illogical. During the release of emotions the brain releases chemicals that spread into the body which is impossible for computers to have, since they have no chemical that flow through the PCU. The main intent of this research is to determine if these machines can truly be a replacement option for the future in numerous work fields. If computers are what they claim to be “the ultimate human’ can it mold itself according to the circumstances or just work in a operate according to the …show more content…
Most of the results showed that the computer was not able to detect the voice that was communicating with it, also he could not judge or guess what the conversation was about. The computer could not hear what person B was saying dues to the loud music and was confused to which conversation the computer was involved it. This was found fairly similar to the feature on apple’s iphones called siri. Person A on the other hand had demonstrated a 74% accuracy from the experiment. The records demonstrate that even though person A could not hear word for word from the conversation, person A identified the voice and fouced on person B’s communication. Lastly, person A also used method in which they plugged in the missing context from the conversation and matched it with person B’s body language/facial expression and tried to guesstimate the conversation, overall resulting in a high accuracy in the conversation. The results for test number two showed that computers (robots) cannot compete with humans and their capability to produce good decisions in general environments, have emotions, or communicate. The robot was unsussefull in trying to make the baby quite as it gave the baby either only the bottle of milk or tired to rock the baby, were as the baby only needed to be in the arms of someone whom he recognized. This test also showed that
