With the emphasis on green and sustainable computing, there are continuous research on the how to improvise the existing technologies and product to make it more consumer and environment friendly. With the onset of new technologies in the hardware technology and wireless technology, computer products are getting more and simpler to use. For some previous years, the products offered by IT companies like PDAs, notebooks, phones and personal computer gets about 1.75% share of the sold computing devices (Dell, 2013).
Market and distribution trend
Another key differentiation trend is the sales, distribution and customer relationship model adopted by computer manufacturers. Dell's direct selling has become one of the most effective sales and distribution model. An example of this is that Dell was caught in case where the company was trying to sell the products without including the features they promise.
