Computer Analysis Essay I started my diet project on Thursday, November 10, 2016 and continued until the end of Saturday, November 12, 2016. My diet was always including a random selection of food. As much as I want to say I choose my foods based on the nutritional value it provides, that is not always the case. When I take off shopping, I stay on a budget which means I remain very limited on what I can actually purchase. There are times I find great deals along with sales on organic fruits and vegetables, but I admit it’s not an easy find. It takes hours of my time to skim through all the coupon books as well as all the store flyers to find the best foods for my family. These are essential fats, together they are very nourishing for the human body and it is something we can only receive from food. Your body cannot produce these essential fatty acids so it is important you eat foods that contain them. According to countless studies there are so numerous benefits from the intake of Omega 3/6 fatty acids, it is shown to help lower risk of heart disease as well as protect against Alzheimer’s disease and type 2 diabetes. In my family, heart disease is very common both my grandparents on my fathers as well as mother’s side have heart disease and my grandfather on my father’s side actually died from heart disease. I may inherit these genes that encourage heart disease and that gives me a higher chance of developing heart disease in the future. I am also above the recommend weight for my body which actually doubles my chances of heart disease. In the United States about 610,000 people die from heart disease, that’s 1 in 4 deaths!! According to my results my sodium intake is above recommended rang. My DRI is 1500-2300mg but my intake is a whopping 3564 mg!! I never had much of a sweet tooth; I always seem to crave the salty foods specifically Salt and Vinegar Lays Chips!!! These chips contain 230mg of sodium as well as 10% of recommended daily value intake!! If I continue a high sodium diet that will increase my blood pressure as a consequence it can lead to heart disease. Heart disease is a very dreadful as well as a common disease; it tortured my grandfather for several years until it ultimately took his life in 2012. I will decrease my sodium intake by changing the foods I eat that means no more frozen Hot Pockets or canned soups. It is time to make a new change moreover I started by adding more fresh vegetables and fruits, shopping for low sodium marked soups. I also began to compare cereals along with selecting items with less sodium and more nutrients. It is not an easy change and requires more time and selection but it’s worth
