One way they try to persuade teachers is by praising them. This is seen in one of the subheadings is, ‘Epic teachers run awesome reward trips.’ The word ‘epic’ suggests they are trying to compliment the teacher in order to provoke a good reaction which results in the teacher organising the trip. The Edinburgh Zoo Webpage use images of meerkats as the background of their webpage. They used images of meerkats because they are rare and cute animals. This suggests that the zoo offers you to experience and discover rare animals, animals that you normally wouldn’t see. Parents especially would feel excited to take their families to see an animal that they’ve never seen before; this also includes endangered animals such as pandas. The Edinburgh zoo webpage use images of meerkats looking content. They may have used these images on purpose to change the views and stereotypes associated with zoo’s (the misconception animals are kept behind cages and their freedom is taken away or limited) but by using the image of the meerkat smiling they try to show that the animals at Edinburgh zoo are happy and not at all limited to their freedom. Likewise on the Light water valley leaflet they use images to represent the themepark and to show how much fun people have at this attraction. They use pictures of people laughing and having fun in order to provoke the audience into thinking they will have this much fun if they attend the attraction. However, they use photo shopped images of people on rides smiling and laughing which tempts teachers to give the theme park a go as the images persuade them into thinking that it will be an enjoyable
