Comportance: Quality Of Life Vs. Career

In my opinion, i think that quality of life is more important than career. Quality of life, everyone wants it, but actually what is it? The quality of a person’s life may be considered in terms of its richness, completeness and contentedness (Juniper, 2001). It is a highly subjective measure of happiness which is an important component of many financial decisions. On the other hand, career is the progress and actions taken by a person throughout a lifetime, especially those related to that person's occupations. As previously noted, quality of life would bring about a high value of life and pleasure if we more emphasize on our life’s quality instead of single-mindedly devoted to career. Factors that act a role in quality of life vary based on personal preferences and lifestyles which include quality of environment, physical and material well-being, health and a secure social and occupational environment. High quality of life will give us a better living environment. Humans interact with the environment constantly. The environment, which usually discussed in the context of sustainability, is equally important for an individual’s life. A better quality of life can afford an unspoiled environment which is a source of satisfaction, improves mental well-being, allow people to recover from the stress of daily life and to perform physical activity. For example, having access to green spaces is an essential part of quality of life. Conversely, low quality of living environment has a direct impact on health and well-being. For instance, a spoiled environment will impair health-related quality of life and we will directly bother by the symptoms and limit our daily activities. Good quality of life will fulfill our physical and material well-being. Physical and material well-being such as money, luxury items, car and properties are the demand that often encourages and pursuits by individuals. As individuals having a good quality of life, they would be able to find great pleasure and comfort in their life due to pursuit their material benefits and satisfy their sense of satisfied. They would have the courage and ability to pursuit the material well-being in order to increase their life’s quality. For instance, a person would rather to pursuit for a better life by purchase properties such as car and house in order to enjoy a better quality of life. Besides, health is seen by the public health community as a multidimensional construct that includes physical, mental, and social domains. As quality of life increased, medical and public health advances have led to cures and better treatments of existing diseases and delayed of mortality. This will directly reduce the risk of illness of individuals and enable them for having a good physical health since they have the ability to seek for more healthy lifestyles.
