While each component is independently important, which is the most important subject to YOU when it comes to Soldier readiness? The three key components of the performance triad are nutrition, physical activity and finally sleep (Army Public Health Center). I feel that all three are important in their own way. Sleep as defined by Webster dictionary is “the natural state of rest during which your eyes are closed and you become unconscious”. But based on the performance triad sleep is “very critical in achieving optimal physical, mental, and emotional health” (Army Public Health Center). I feel that nutrition helps contribute to the energy I require to be physically fit and conduct my daily task. I notice that if I remain unable to get the proper amount of nutrition I become very frustrated, aggravated, and can’t stay focused. I literally have to consume food every couple of hours, if I am incapable I become very grouchy as well as very ill-tempered. That 's why I prep meals or snacks when going out of the range, will not be able to or somewhere that I know I will be doing a lot of physical labor (i.e. nuts, fruit some type of bread product) and have plenty of water because I know how my body reacts to not eating within a certain amount of time. My body makes me feel as if I don’t have any energy, I want to just go lay down. Once I do eat, I am unable to eat a lot or I eat too much which makes me feel sick. Even though I know that isn’t good for my body, I am I still able to function through the day. When I don’t do my usual physical activities, my body feel weird, then I get a lot of the similar symptoms that I get when I am unable to eat. If I am unable to conduct my pre workout before PT, company PT just seems to suck and it tasks me until almost the end of PT to get motivated. When I am unable doing my pre workout or PT at all, I don’t have an appetite, or when I do have an appetite I craves a bunch of junk.
