As a compliance officer, our duty would have to ensuring the business running ethically and complying with the current regulation and laws. I think that every industries and companies need a high level position for compliance officer because we are there to ensure an ethical working environment, especially when the companies work in the tech industry. An industry that is consistently creating new innovation would require a lot of efforts in keeping all the work legally and ethically. The compliance professional is a fairly new position in today’s business world. Their duty was performed usually by lawyers or attorney hired from a third party. Adding the compliance professional not only make it more convenient for the business, it also create a sense of ethical awareness in the workplace as well. If the position is in the higher level of hierarchy, the company conveys a message to take the business ethically and legally.

The best method to handle the situation before whistleblowing it should follow the following advice:
First, collect enough evidence of the problem that you’re trying to expose. Having evidence to back up the grievance is important to as a proof of evidence. Second, build support among colleagues and others, and wait for the right opportunity to come. It is important that you are well investigated and prepare a backup plan for escape if things go wrong. (Kumagai 2004)
Without a well prepare plan for whistleblowing, the consequence would hurt you even more than the issues had done to you. Moreover, you have to look at the consequences for other stakeholders as well. The U.S. department of labor has law and regulation that protect whistleblower-- the whistleblower protection program. The program allows whistleblowers to file complaint through their online platform and they also provide resources to help the whistleblowers as
