My Class Analysis

This class was nothing like I’ve ever been apart of. The dynamics of the class, how it was structured, and the requirements, were all so foreign to me that it really allowed me to grow as a student, and a business major. I learned a lot about not only myself, but also how I react in certain situations. I also learned about my peers in a way I would otherwise not have. Beginning with the class dynamics, I learned how different personalities are. Being an introvert in this class was very interesting. I usually don’t talk a lot in class, unless I feel very comfortable, and I am surrounded by a lot of other introverts. Extroverts, who for some reason, all sat in the same part of the room, dominated this class. These extroverts lead most of the class discussions, which I did not mind at all. I would have just assumed these people were the confident ones of the class, or the smartest. However, after learning about MBTI types in the personality lecture, I understood why these people …show more content…
There was never an attendance policy set up, yet on any given day, the entire class was present minus one or two. Even when the entire class knew we were just going to do a power point lecture on a specific topic that we could all find online, we still came to class. I believe the motivation factor of this was the expectancy theory we discussed. As the professor, you told us that if we put n the effort, and perform all the requirements, that we would achieve our goals for the class. There were no grades all semester, so there were no incentives. We learned that incentives do not work, because they are short lasting. I found this most evident in the final presentation day. My group presented on the last day, and half the class had already gone, and was done with all their assignments. These groups did not have to be there, but instead chose to be there to listen to the other two groups

Family: Before this class, I knew the importance of family. I have grown up in a really loving home, and we all stick together pretty closely. I love them more than anything else in my life, and I would do almost anything for them. Through this class, though, I have enjoyed reading about the different family experiences that people have told of, and it has been inspiring to me. I have also realized how much my family and I take for granted, and it makes me so much more appreciative to be with them, and to be safe.…

The first time, I enrolled in this class, I felt excited knowing this class would help on my grammar, so I can become a better writer. My first thought that cross my mind was this was going to be easy and it was. My last experienced with writing and English was okay because I mainly get a B or a C, but rarely I would get an A. I always been having trouble with grammars. My high school English teachers taught us about grammars and how to become a better writer. It was similar to what you had taught us in class because we always learned about grammar out of a book and we got tested after we been practice.…

It was quite hard and also very long considering its a short term semester. I had always taken classes in person at IVC, so the first day of this course, I felt like the first day of class for a three-year-old girl, I had no idea what the subject was really about. And reading the class objectives about being able to identify those pictures. I had never been able to do so, only in this one Art 100 course. My favorite so far was Art in Egypt and the Middle East, Classical Art in Antiquity, and Classical Culture, were really beautiful subjects.…

Made it through another semester This semester I learned that some of us read and write more then we think we on a daily basis. There are different ways of reading and writing outside of the classroom. After we did the reading and writing journals earlier this semester I noticed that I read more then I write in my free time and for class, like text, social media, ESPN updates, books, and flyers.…

It feels like so long ago when I first began this English course. I can remember being so excited about the class topic, racism and social justice, which I felt that I had a lot of passion for. Little did I know that I would have to gather up even more enthusiasm and passion to be able to continue writing papers about the same topic all semester long. This course has tested my endurance, and at many times my patience, and for that I am thankful because I know in the end, it has made me a better writer. Despite various minor challenges this semester I believe that I have put in the hard work that it takes and I have achieved the course goals and will complete this class feeling fulfilled and accomplished.…

I hated writing. And believe me, I still do hate writing even right now. Imagine yourself being in college a writing class with a tired body and a tired mind because you had early morning classes already. Even worse, the professor gives you writing assignment that has to be at least three pages long. I can already hear your whining voices and complaints, but once you start writing papers, it would not be difficult to write because it is in your language.…

I have discovered the areas that I have been successful in as well as the many areas that I will need to make improvements. For example, prior to this class I had no knowledge of the X and Y theories. Now I realize that I operated with the mindset of a theory X manager and had the same thought process about all employees collectively, which in return made me less effective and resulted in not reaching maximum production. I currently will apply this knowledge to communicate more effectively with my current managers and to better recognize what theory they most resemble and why they interact with me on the level that they do. This class will also assist me greatly in my future goals to own a business in which I possibly will have to manage multiple people in different departments.…

Throughout the course, I learned different aspects of project management, and skills that can be used in the everyday life as long as involve interacting with other people. In this class I learned about how to be a better team member. This semester I was reminded of how important communication is and how people need to keep emphasizing it as one of the most important skills any person could possesses. The personality test was useful, I think it gave all of us a good way to start to see how everyone is different. cultural communication lectures I realize that not every one is the same in the way they communicate. We are living in a global world where borders are shrinking and cultures are meshing but there are sill cultural customs that need to be accounted for. Especially as a Campus Involvement Ambassador, it is our job to ensure all student, even international students have a great experience at Fresno State. I was ignorant to the fact there are so many distinct cultures represented around campus. I think we need to be very cognoscente of this fact take account of all the wonderful diversity around us.…
