We being the imperfect humans that we are, we need to use critical thinking to solve problems and basically go through life. For example, you can’t become aware of a problem if you can’t solve it. Analyze problems independently is an enormous part of this. A time I used critical thinking was recently. I have put myself on a diet and I was close to eating something unhealthy like chips and candy.…

The diverse ways in which critical thinking can be applied are astonishing. One may find themselves in a group project working towards a common goal and an individual would find it immensely helpful to be able to process the ideas or statements and go through steps exploring possible problems, solutions, and meanings. In a professional environment, possessing this skill would demonstrate not only competency, but leadership. In a meeting, one may be asked what one thinks of the ideas that have been discussed and it would serve one well to be able to analytically and intellectually reflect on what has been discussed and arrive at an answer to a problem that one’s peers would comprehend. Possessing the skill of thinking critically is crucial in all parts of life; it is a skill that will be easily noticed and assist one in answering any question that…

I took calculus AB my senior year of high school, so I had all of the skills I needed prior to entering this class. I knew the Limit, Derivative, and Anti-Derivative topics, and in depth.…

I clearly remember how angry I was when I watched a video about a two-year-old Chinese girl who was hit by a truck five years ago. The poor girl, then, was left to death by almost 20 people who passed by. How human being – an only creature who can feel love – could have such a cruel action? I had kept that anger for almost five years until I learned about the “bystander bias,” which is the tendency for any given bystander to be less likely to give aid if other bystanders are present. The presence of many people can make individuals “scruple” to help poor victims.…
