Compilation of the Holy Quran
The holy book was written almost thrice. First of all it was written when it was revealed to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) at that time when a new verse was revealed to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) he asked one of his companions to write it down. Along with that the companions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) were memorizing it also. During his time the Quran was being preserved by memorization, and it was being written on stones, bark, bones, leaves etc also. It was completely written in his lifetime but was not compiled.
Compilation in reign of Abu Bakr Siddique (R.A):

We discovered the Big Bang Theory now and God told us about it and how it was done almost 1400 years ago. As it is in the Quran:
Then He turned to the heavens, and it was smoke, and said to it and to the earth, "Come, willingly or unwillingly." They said, "We come willingly."
And
“Do not those who disbelieve see that the heavens and the Earth were meshed together then We tore them apart? And then We made of water everything living? Would they still not believe?”

Linguistic Proof about Quran:
The language in which Quran is written presents most perfect form of Arabic Literature. When it is read there is a harmonious tune in it. Arabic is not a language that everyone is familiar with even then we can remember it easily. There is a kind of magic in its verses. In almost 1400 years there is not a single book of Arabic of this standard. Its verses are written in such a way that they affect every reader eternally. It is the only book that has a strong effect on human thoughts, ethics, civilization and mode of living.
