Competiveness and Performance Effectiveness for Health Care IT Systems Today, the use of computers and information technology is fundamental in increasing the proficiency and performance of health care organizations around the world. This increases the speed and accuracy of collecting the patient’s medical history information. Also, these methods help in forming and storing the patient information in ways that can be tracked. The technological capability to lock access to patient information by using encryption and passwords guarantees that only authorized users can access the information. In short, this paper will analyze the role of health care officers in ensuring the efficiency in the health care IT system. A chief information officer (CIO) is an individual who is delegated to supervise the development and innovation of information technology within a health care setting. A chief information officer must ensure that there is sufficient involvement of medical officers in the use and improvement of the IT infrastructure. Mobile Health suggests the use of mobile devices in health care establishments. This method allows patients to access necessary health information and services using their tablets and or smartphones. Through using smartphones, a doctor can easily access a patient’s health information and send them a report on their progress, appointments, or test results. Mobile Health assists patients in being active participants in their treatment seeing as though it joins communication with biometrics.
