By competition, we are able to find the best species, or best individuals of plants and animals for each habitat(diversity). For example, deer, elk and moose are in the same family so they all essentially have the same instincts. These animals have alpha males in their herd. For deer, elk, and moose, they fight for the niche of Alpha Male. The winner, the smartest, most athletic individual obtains role. The alpha male is the individual that carries on the genes in the herd. In other words, the alpha male gets to make all the babies; therefore making the next generation the most intelligent and physical possible within their habitat. A majority of the people who don’t have a job, aren’t willing to change. Economically and Socially, there are specific jobs, or niches that need to be obtained, but there is a lack of qualified individuals. For example, a man named Larry McGee, opened a fish store in 2002. He thought forever that he wanted to open this type of business. For the first few months, business was good, but another store that he was competing with had better advertising. Six months into his business, he was suffering. He later determined that the niche of owning a fish store is not for him. Since he closed his store, he has been a fish tank cleaner and maintenance man. By competition, Larry was able fulfill the niche that he was best at which was most necessary for the economy, and himself socially. Competition in the economy, not only got the best member for owning a fish store, but allowed Larry to be the best fish tank maintenance man for the economy.
