I can ensure that my personal knowledge and skills meet the required competency standards by looking at the key performance indicators which are based on competencies. A competency is a behavioural dimension which may be a trait, skill, a motive, aspect of one’s self- image or social role or a body of knowledge. These can affect the performance of a job.
To determine my development needs I can measure my performance. Self-assessing my performance continually can help determine how well I think I am performing. You can measure your performance against the organizations goals, objective and standards and identify what areas need to be improved. Asking for feedback from managers, colleagues and other stakeholders can also help you evaluate and identify areas that need to be improved. Key performance indicators (KPI’s) are used to measure performance. They are used to let employees now what needs to be done and how that success is measured.
My personal learning style is a kinaesthetic, by touching, feeling, doing, practical hands on experience. People who are kinaesthetic learners learn best by doing and experiencing things. To ensure I take advantage of learning opportunities by

Feedback is used to identify how well or how poorly I am performing. Therefore, I should be able to identify what needs improving and make a plan on how I am going to make those improvements. This applies to the way you communicate with others, your leadership skills and techniques, and the ability to build effective relationships with workmate’s. From the feedback that is received you should be able to acknowledge what you are doing well. This will reinforce good of work and allow you to continue to perform well in these areas, continue to improve in these areas and also to transfer successful skills and techniques to other areas of your
