Research has shown that schools are actively seeking ways to better educate 21st century students and boost school performance. However, this cannot be accomplished without the support and service of faculty and staff. Strategies, as the skills listed keep emphasizing, will work if created within a learning community/organization. Demonstrating the skills in FELE Competency 1-02 will foster genuine learning opportunities for both faculty/staff and students. Genuine because faculty/staff will be challenged to tap into their inner potentials and resources. New thinking and practices will transform the school. These points are based on the number of quizzes taken from books read. It is up to the teacher to choose, tweak, and/or change the goal. I have noticed that Aniyah’s goals have increased each quarter by five points which has boosted her confidence in reading. The appropriate goals have motivated and encouraged Aniyah to take ownership of her reading and has promoted greater reading growth. The ability to see connections between issues, relationships, and applications can shape Aniyah’s learning environment. Also, this particular intermediate school has a literacy team which includes a reading coach, reading specialist, and a counselor who targets struggling children early so that reading problems do not continue to the next grade. For example, research conducted between student and faculty impacts student feelings of connectedness to the school. UNF Crisis Management Team has training sessions and videos (FEMA Active Shooter Training/Shots Fired on Campus Video) which shows UNF’s attention to fostering …show more content…
For example, I will have teachers team up with other teachers to discuss similar problems occurring within the classroom. I will have them brainstorm and come up with a plan that will help the students achieve gains. It is also important to mention classroom management. In order for the classroom to be a learning environment, teachers will have to manage the classroom effectively. Research has shown that teachers' actions in their classrooms have twice the impact on student achievement as do school policies, assessment, staff collegiality, and community involvement (Marzano, 2003). Steps that I will take to begin the school year will emphasize on what is expected in the classroom as far as behavior. I will set rules and regulations with clear consequences for unacceptable behavior. These rules will be enforced throughout the year in which students will eventually become accustom to them. Goal #3: Learn how to be more decisive in decision-making situations As a people pleaser, I have difficulty making decisions because I want to make sure everyone’s opinions and ideas are valued. However, this often leads to internal conflict because I take too long to make decisions, out of fear that I am making the wrong decision, hurting other peoples’ feelings or being overly assertive. I find that I seek approval from others in order to validate my opinions in decision-making situations. Being more decisive will help me become a more confident and purpose-driven leader, which will demonstrate to my team members that I can lead them and that they can trust the choices I make. I will know that I have achieved this goal when others recognize my promptness in making decisions.…

Hello (address them professionally), I am well known by my peers to be a decisive, collected, and communicative leader that works relentlessly with critical thinking and a problem solving mindset. Only being an undergraduate student at Indiana University, I am not bountiful of professional experiences. My professors and peers notice my themes and personal qualities daily. Just the other day, I was making an informative presentation with a group that I led and the professor asked for our printed slides and after realizing no one printed them, I checked the time, knew I could run to a lab and print the slides in the time period, then ran to a lab. My group gave up, my members stood there beating themselves up for forgetting the task, not thinking about how they can make the situation better.…

My extensive background in building a district offering a plethora of supports for all students, regardless of his or her ability or background, has led to high levels of student engagement, learning and success. I have subsequently detailed the implementation of just a few educational programs I have implemented in my current and former districts aimed at helping students achieve and surpass standards. My goal is to bring this experience to the Lawrence Township Public Schools, work with all shareholders and make us a preeminent district.…

Although learners of the 21st century have evolved tremendously, the school system has relatively remained the same over the past several decades. More recent educational trends and practices in school are evolving to better serve current student needs. Several factors must be taken into consideration to determine what practices are best on a school-wide level. Not all trends that work in particular school environments work well across other environments, therefore the characteristics of leaners must always be taken into consideration. Practices should have a trickle-down effect, which promotes positive outcomes for the student population overall through effective interventions.…
