In Todd’s poverty philosophy, he talks about a common theme of knowing the definition of poverty and the different views people have on it. His video was more persuasive because he uses pathos and logos. Which allowed him to appeal to the audience’s emotions and make himself credible with all the facts he used. He presented pathos by interviewing middle class families and getting their stories on their financial status. In these families most of them presented that they were still struggling although they had two incomes. This helped prove Reich’s point about the realities of poverty and show how our economy is not keeping the middle class stable. His use of logos is displayed by him incorporating his facts and research he found. This also helped him prove his argument because aids him in being a credible source. This also helps the audience understand the statistical background of poverty. The video also provides visuals for the audience, which keeps the audience engaged. Todd, did not have any visuals and I felt that it was harder for him to be more convincing because he lacked research
