Maya Angelo once said “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” Compassion is a feeling of deep sympathy for another who is stricken by misfortune accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering, compassion international is a big part in some kid’s life. Many people around the world support compassion international once they learn what all happens and what they do for kids all around the world.
Compassion international was founded in 1952 by Everett Swanson and it is a Christian Child sponsor organization. This organization has been served in over 26 countries around the world. Some of the countries are Africa, …show more content…
Also formed in Switzerland in 2003. Compassion international has many different programs. One program of their programs is the Kid’s survival program. This was a good program for kids as it provides them prenatal care, Nutrition care, neutrino, health care, infant survival training, spiritual guidance and education, and Support through local church for mothers with infants that are at risk. Another program is their child sponsorship program. This program provides children food, clean water, medical care, a good education, teach them things that they need to know in life, and spiritual guidance. Children that are sponsored are selected by the sponsors and a two-way communication is encouraged between the sponsored children are selected by the sponsors and two-way communication is preferred between the sponsor kid and sponsor. First picture I choose was of 17 year old Loraine in Columbia. Loraine has spina bifida, she had her lower leg amputated due to an infection. After all of this stuff that happened to Loraine she still manages to keep a smile on her face. As soon as she graduated high school, she began studies in the medical field. This picture has a lot of interesting in the background. She has brick walls in her room and dirty. She also has a prosthetic leg and a wheel chair in the back. Loraine bed is made up very neat. She also has on a nice navy blue shirt with some nice blue jeans and a very nice pair of shoes that I like. Loraine has some nice bags on her wall and a good mirror she can check herself out in. Second picture I choose was a 14 year old girl named Nuda from Thailand. She lives in a boarding house with 60 other people on one floor with no doors. She or anyone else that stay in the boarding house does not have a bed, they all sleep on a carpet with a blanket. Nuda said in the summertime it gets really hot in there and in the winter it gets very cold. There is a lot of different stuff in the background. Nuda has nice long hair and she is wrapped up in a blanket. Blankets and carpets are laying around and you can also a lot of clothes and book bags laying around. The room is wooden and it has hard wooden floors too. She also has some weird marking on her chin. These two pictures
