Compass Rose Activity Plan

Many steps must be considered when creating and preparing an activity plan. Specifically, there is the preplanning stage, activity beginning stage, activity middle stage, and activity closing stage. It is significant to include all of the points within your activity plan to effectively teach a lesson. The teacher must prepare the students for the activity and allow the students to understand what the central ideas of the lesson are. I had the opportunity to use an activity plan with students in the classroom, which allowed me to gain experience with second graders. After watching the video of the compass rose activity, I can now prepare for future lessons. Additionally, I praised the students by telling them what a good job they were doing. At the end of the activity, I remembered to close the lesson by reviewing all of the information that we covered. I feel as if the students completely understood the compass rose lesson because the students did not struggle finding the necessary directions in the classroom. Overall, I was impressed that the students answered all the questions correctly. After using this activity with children, I believe I would keep the majority of the activity the same. The students loved the visual aids I brought because the map was Disney Land and they enjoyed the unique design of the compass rose on the map. Personally, I think that creating a compass rose spinner was appropriate for the game that we played. The materials were already made for the students and this helped the students learn the information without struggling to cut out the sections of the compass rose.
