Compass Observation In Elementary School

Due to the classroom being in a daycare setting the teacher can not be evaluated by compass. The teacher does not plan her instruction according to the compass rubric like elementary school prekindergarten teachers. However, if I were to give her a grade she would fall within the ineffective range. This is only because she does not do small group. Every form of instruction within the classroom is done in an whole group setting. In order to fall within the effective range the example that is given by Compass is that, some students not working with the teacher are not productively engaged in learning. Transitions between large and small group activities are rough but they are accomplished. The attendance or lunch count consumes more time than
